RomaniaFrumoasa.org publishes text and image about the people and places of Romania. We publish in Romanian and Hungarian because we write for every citizen of Romania, regardless of which language they speak at home, and in English so that visitors can read along too. Translations are produced with AI — we apologise in advance for any awkward phrasings. We try to make every article one worth reading in full.

The subjects we care about are places, cities, villages, roads, built heritage, public infrastructure, and the people who hold communities together. We look at what is, not at what could be. Reporting and photo essays are our preferred forms.

What we are not

We are not a news aggregator and we don't do clickbait. We don't take payment for sponsored articles without a clear disclosure. We don't have comments — if you want to reply to something, write us by email.

How to support us
